Environmental Justice Task Force Meeting – Friday, Sept. 25
Friday, Sept. 25 – 11 AM – 4 PM
This statewide meeting of the Governor’s Oregon Environmental Justice Task Force is significant because it is the first time the Task Force will actually listen to and travel to an impacted community!
This Environmental Justice Gathering is a landmark event for Oregon. Harsh working conditions and exposure to toxic chemicals are serious concerns in Oregon.
Workers, minority residents and rural communities have the greatest burden of exposure and harm. The Environmental Justice Task Force was created by Governor Kitzhaber and the Legislature to help protect Oregonians from disproportionate environmental impacts on minority and low-income populations. However, there has been no access, no public outreach and no policy recommendations from the Task Force (that are known to the public).
WE NEED MORE ACCOUNTABILITY TO EJ ISSUES IN OREGON!
