Southern Oregon celebrates 50 years of Medicare!

What’s as American as Apple Pie? Medicare – celebrating its 50th anniversary this summer. On July 30, Rogue Valley residents joined in the nationwide celebration with a press conference and party featuring free home baked pie.

 

Around 30 supporters of universal health care made alot of noise in Medford Thursday evening, celebrating the critical role Medicare and Medicaid play in protecting the health and well-being of millions of families. The celebration was sponsored by Health Care for All Oregon – Rogue Valley, which works to ensure all Oregonians get the health care they need when they need it.

With 55 million covered through the program, Medicare is the single largest source of health insurance in the United States.
